Decided to take it in turns to write our blog entries, so
today it’s my turn.
We had a nice 3 mile stroll to the Eiffel Tower and on the
way saw this statue in the river.
It seems to be a rip off of the Statue of Liberty – get ready
for Joke of the Day from Nick:
“It’s just In-seine” (In Seine, Insane….. you got it).
On
the way we waked through Parc Andre Citreon part of which is on two
levels, so when you're walking through the top level it's like walking
through the tops of the trees!
Went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower (in the lift though, let’s not be stupid). We probably spent about 4 hours there but I’d
say well over half of that time was spent queuing. Nick’s telling me to say that we saw loads of
things in the view from the tower and it was “awesome” but personally I think
that’s a bit obvious as why else would you go up there?!
Pictures of the view below, plus my arty shot from the bottom.
Oh, forgot to mention - not to diss Sutton Grammar in any way, but Nick believes that this is where he really should have been sent to school...
Been looking for more Workaway things this evening to fill
in the gap between when we leave here on 11th August and when we
arrive in Tuscany on 29th.
Found a couple in South of France that look good so fingers crossed they
will read our profile and be dazzled by us.
Tomorrow we’ve planned to go on a boat trip along the Seine
and maybe go to the Arc de Triomphe in the evening to see it all lit up.
Dinner Diary for the food fans (you know who you are): Chorizo, Apple and Cheese Salad with
Mediterranean pasta and French bread.
